A JOURNEY
By Vincent Valentine
For quite some time I sit only and ponder
For I feel this end is near
All the facets of this time I picture
Joining them in thoughts unclear
My mind wanders; a brilliant light I view
To the heavens I ascend
Forever higher, till the end I reach
Of the time once mine, in the world broken-hearted
And from my body, spirit has departed, and does escape
It’s once shell-like world to a world unending
To the dream of dream sublime
From the end, the end of time
From a cherished possession now not mine
Now from me is taken and has become thine
